Dolores Valenza, Master Painter/Sculptor

The artwork of Dolores Valenza: Gallery of Figurative Paintings, Bronze Sculptures, Porcelain and Fine Jewelry. 'Artworks of the old masters, be it in the painted or sculptural manner, has been the greatest inspiration for Valenza. This influence continues to exert itself upon her art, as is evident in her contemporary works. Clearly, she paints to achieve her goals and enjoys what she does. Valenza's love of color is apparent regardless of media used. Her work carries a distinct fingerprint.' Working in a representational, realistic style, I also work in what appears to be an Abstractionism.

The subject is approached in the same manner. Have fashioned porcelain works which have been exhibited in galleries worldwide, as well as sculptures for studios such as CYBIS, USA, and HUTSCHENREUTHER Germany. Was the first woman ever to be commissioned by HUTSCHENREUTHER, for whom I designed and sculpted figurines including Dancers, Shakespearean, Biblical, Fairy Tale and Contemporary youthful Characters. Some Porcelain works which I have designed and sculpted for various companies have been presented to such dignitaries as Pope John Paul 11, Former First Lady Betty Ford, Queen Elisabeth, Countess Catherine Bobrinskoy, and Former Prime Minister Golda Meir. Have received commissions from other companies such as Lenox, Lance, Gorham, Hamilton, Anna-Perenna and the Marian Museum. Jewelry is cast in Sterling Silver or Gold. Most of my jewelry is designed and sculpted as I would were I doing a bronze, lost wax method. I was honored to have had a one woman exhibition at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Then again, to have done the artwork for the 6th. Annual NYC Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival. I have studied with Medievalist, Barbara Meise at Pratt Institute., NYC. Currently, I am working with Gouache, Water Color and Dry Pigment on canvas, some of which I call Painted Tapestries always using proper ventilation with art materials.
